Annual pricing, excluding VAT. The sale is carried out by Stripe, which adds and remits Swiss VAT of 8.1% at checkout; the publisher itself is not liable for VAT. The license renews automatically each year; you can cancel at any time before the renewal date, at no charge. Payment is processed via Stripe: the invoice is sent automatically, and the processing record is issued in the name of the firm given at checkout.

Why is everything free, with no limits?
Because processing happens entirely on your device: we have no server to rent for converting, merging, or recognizing your documents. The cost that usually justifies a subscription — server-side computing — simply doesn’t exist for us. Limiting the free version would be a purely commercial choice, and we’d rather not make it.
So what does the VellumPDF Cabinet license actually sell?
It doesn’t unlock any feature — every tool is already open to everyone. It sells what an organization bound by professional confidentiality needs around the tool: a written processing record it can add to its compliance register, a version that runs on its own network without depending on the internet, its own branding, and a point of contact who replies in writing.
Why does a processing record matter?
Because a firm or a trustee needs to be able to show where its clients’ documents actually go. With a typical online PDF suite, the answer is “on a provider’s servers” — which means a data processing agreement and a risk assessment. With VellumPDF, the answer is “nowhere” — but you still need to prove that on paper.
How do I sign up for a VellumPDF Cabinet license?
Pick the tier that matches the size of your organization, then click the matching button: payment happens online via Stripe, in a few moments. The invoice is sent to you automatically, and we issue the processing record in the name of the firm provided at checkout. Have a question before deciding? Write to us — we reply in writing.
I received my licence key — how do I activate it?
Your key (it starts with VLC1) reaches you by e-mail after payment. Open the site’s Attestation page, paste it into the “Already have your key?” block at the bottom of the page, and click Activate: the confirmation issued in your organization’s name and the installable application are immediately available on that device. The key stays in your browser and is never sent anywhere.
