The book is typeset again page by page: chapters in reading order, headings, paragraphs, lists, tables, images and links. The publisher’s own styling (fonts, colours, style sheets) is not carried over. A DRM-protected book cannot be converted.
How to convert an EPUB to PDF, step by step

Drop your EPUB books
Drag one or more .epub files into the drop zone, or click to choose them.
Set the page layout
“Paper size” is A5 by default, like a paperback; A4 and Letter suit printing better. Also choose the orientation, margins, font (Times by default) and text size.
Keep numbering and bookmarks
“Number the pages” and “Bookmarks per chapter” are ticked by default: the book’s table of contents becomes the PDF’s clickable outline.
Click “Convert to PDF”
Each book becomes a PDF with real text; several books are gathered in a ZIP archive.
The publisher’s own styling (fonts, colours, style sheets) is not carried over: the book is typeset again in the chosen font. A DRM-protected book cannot be converted.
Frequently asked questions
Can a book bought from an online store be converted?
Only if it is not DRM-protected. Books sold with protection (Adobe DRM, Kindle) are encrypted: VellumPDF does not decrypt them and says so. DRM-free books, public-domain works and books you wrote yourself convert normally.
Why A5 by default?
Because it is the size of a paperback: a line of text keeps a comfortable reading length. To print on an office printer, choose A4 or Letter under “Paper size”.
Is the book sent to a server?
No. The EPUB file is opened and laid out in your browser; nothing is transmitted, not even the book’s title.
